€830,500 raised climbing Mont Ventoux for MS research
A team of four women and four men from ARMONIA took part in 'Klimmen tegen MS', a challenging bike ride to the summit of Mont Ventoux to support research into multiple sclerosis (MS).
The team arrived at the base of the mountain on Wednesday 20 May, then spent the following days training by cycling towards the top. The first 19 kilometres have a gradient of 4 to 8 per cent, with the final 6 kilometres becoming tougher at 10 to 12 per cent. Both the men and women in the team reached the summit, not just once but several times during the week. The official ascent during the event itself on Monday was a highlight for everyone.
At the closing meeting, the total amount raised for MS research was announced: €830,500. ARMONIA contributed a donation, alongside the commitment and support of colleagues.
It was a remarkable week, with a result the whole team can be truly proud of.
